(2) The images were taken in the 1820s by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce born in 1765. (3) His pictures are recognised as the world's first (SUCCESS) ________ photos.

(4) He created permanent images by exposing chemicals on metal plates to light, which he called heliography, meaning (DRAW) ________ with the sun.

(5) There are 16 Niépce’s heliographic plates known to be in (EXIST) ________ today, three of which belong to the National Media Museum’s Royal Photographic Society (COLLECT) ________ .
